Abstract: An etymological analysis of collected Istro-Venetian loan words shows that they are used in the Savrinian village of Krkavče. The existence of selected Istro-Venetian lexemes has been confirmed by well-known dialectological dictionaries (Great Dictionary of the Triestine Dialect, Doria, Manzini-Rochi, Durante-Turato), which contain the rich vocabulary of Veneto, Venetian, Istro-Venetian and Triestine dialects and often offer the etymology of the words. Loan words, included in this analysis, 23 per cent of which are Istro-Venetian, were found to be in the semantic fields of Customs and institutions as well as Life, marriage and family. The analysis included in this article, based on a written material, cannot yet offer clear and final rules on Istro-Venetian loan words in Savrinian idioms. It anyway offers a clearer insight into the rich Venetian vocabulary that has a special place in Savrinian terminology. The Neolatin, colonising (Venetian) idiom has flooded the already existent dialect or has emalgamated with it. A proof of that are also analysed hybrid words in which Istrian and Venetian linguistic elements merge together, evidencing cohabitation and connection between Romance and Slavic worlds. The purpose of further research work is to exactly define the occurance of Istro-Venetian loan words in a given area, and thus contribute to new important findings for Slovenian and Italian dialectology

Abstract: Introduction: An ostomy, especially a permanent one, will have an impact on the quality of life of patients as it affects also their body image and self-esteem. Therefore, properpre-operative and post-operative counselling, expert care and support can significantly contribute to improvement in the quality of their lives. Aim: The goal of the research was to determine in which phase of the treatment process the stoma patients receive enough information on their condition and when the information is not sufficient. The research was designed to assess also the contribution of health care providers in their better coping with all aspects of stoma management. Method: A questionnaire was designed to obtain quantitative data on the above issues from the patients and the enterostomal therapists in Slovenia. Results: The research results show that expert advice and counselling on stoma management is mainly provided by enterostomal therapists during hospital stay. However, the primary health care providers often lack the necessary knowledge and competence for the work with patients requiring stomal therapy. The quality of information given is generally influenced by the "cognitive understanding of information" and the "psychological needs of the patient". Discussion and conclusions: Heath education of stoma patients as well as relevant education of health professionals in relation to stoma is of significance in physical and psychological aspects of stoma management at all levels of care.

Abstract: Namen: Cilj raziskave je bil ugotoviti seznanjenost študentov zdravstvene neges kršitvami po 42. členu Pravilnika o organizaciji in delovanju Častnega razsodišča Zbornice zdravstvene in babiške nege Slovenije ter ugotoviti razlike v poznavanju kršitev v šolskih letih 2007/2008 in 2008/2009. Metode: V raziskavo je bilo zajetih 230 študentov zdravstvene nege. Vprašalnik je vseboval kršitve, ki jih navaja 42. člen Pravilnika o organizaciji in delovanju Častnega razsodišča Zbornice zdravstvene in babiške nege Slovenije. Za analizo podatkov smo uporabili osnovne statistične parametre in t-Test za ugotavljanje razlik med spoloma, šolskim letom ter dokončano srednjo šolo. Podatke smo obdelali s SPSS 17.0. Rezultati: Študentje so najbolj seznanjeni s "kršitvijo poklicne molčečnosti in varovanja zasebnosti in dostojanstva bolnikov". Ugotovili smo, da so študentje v šolskem letu 2008/2009 statistično značilno bolj seznanjeni s kršitvami odklonitve nujne medicinske pomoči (p = 0,033), uničenjem ali ponarejanjem podatkov o bolniku (p = 0,001) ter krajo intelektualne lastnine (p = 0,003) glede na študijsko leto 2007/2008. Zaključek: Za zagotavljanje kakovostne zdravstvene nege je pomembno poznavanje nepravilnosti pri izvajanju zdravstvene nege, ki jih kot kršitve navaja častno razsodišče. Poznavanje kršitev, ki jih navaja Častno razsodišče Zbornice zdravstvene in babiške nege Slovenije, lahko pri študentih vpliva na razvoj človeškega odnosa do bolnika ter poznavanje pristojnosti v okviru zdravstvene nege.
