Abstract: During 1995-1997, the authors regularly monitored the Common Coot's Fulica atra wintering dynamics in the Stronjan Lagoon. In the article they also report on the occurrence of an utterly albinic variant of the Common Coot in the winter of 1995/96. They further assess that the Strunjan Lagoon is, in spite of relatively small numbers of birds wintering there, an important wetland for the wintering Coots, since their density per area unit is fairly high.
