1. Istrorumunjske etimologije IV : mikonimiGoran Filipi, 2006, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The paper discusses the myconyms in Istro-Romanian idioms that were collected during fieldwork, mostly within the IrLA survey but also successive verifications. Unfortunately, only one source dealing with myconyms in Istriot vernaculars was available - the concise version of the degree thesis written under my mentorship by Luisa Punis in 1993 at the Faculty of Arts (Faculty of Education at the time) in Pula. In addition, Istro-Romanian and chakavian lexical repertoires that we collected only contained a minimal number of myconyms. These reasons increased the difficulty of the examined task and might have led to erroneous etymological solutions and explanations. Istro-Romanian has certainly borrowed all myconyms from chakavian idioms. Most chakavian ornithonyms have a domestic origin with the exception of a very small number of loan words from Istro-Venetian. The origin of two examined myconyms only was Istro-Romanian (guba de klen, guba de topol) and also theseare probably calques of klenovka, topolovka. Nevertheless, there are somemyconyms that might have been born in the Istro-Romanian idiom, in particular the ones for which no chakavian parallels were found and were therefore assumed given that base words from which these myconyms were derived actually exist as loan words from chakavian in the Istro-Romanian idiom. A further problem is the poor knowledge of mushrooms among people (if they do, they only pick one or two species), which might have been another reason for erroneous identifications of individual names.

2. O podrijetlu toponima "Umag"Ante Matan, 2007, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Based on research presented in this paper, it may be concluded that the origin or etymology of the name of the town of Umag is still obscure or, viewed from an optimistic perspective, insufficiently researched. The study of literature and a philological analysis supported by archeological evidence reveal that the toponym features Histrian origins but that its Latinized version was preserved. Hence, the present paper openly questions the romantic yeal underlying the Celtic hypothesis, still eagerly and fervently advocated by poorly informed and unknowledgeable supporters, sowing their dubious knowledge to equally unlearned listeners around them, as if they were the past small Istrian man sowing wheat with his callous hands, distorting the historical facts and disregarding what we all should lean on in the first place, the truth - where it can be determined. Furthermore, the paper highlights the excessive audacity (or rash recklessness of some) of the advocators of the Illyrian origin of the toponym, excluding details that could in fact be key. In view of all known facts, it is certainly more than questionable whether the Illyrian etymology can be considered. In fact, the findings of onomastic, archeological, linguistic, and philological research conducted to date indicate an epichoric Histrian toponym in the Latinized version.

3. Izbrani istrskobeneški leksemi v krkavškem govoru ISuzana Todorović, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: An etymological analysis of collected Istro-Venetian loan words shows that they are used in the Savrinian village of Krkavče. The existence of selected Istro-Venetian lexemes has been confirmed by well-known dialectological dictionaries (Great Dictionary of the Triestine Dialect, Doria, Manzini-Rochi, Durante-Turato), which contain the rich vocabulary of Veneto, Venetian, Istro-Venetian and Triestine dialects and often offer the etymology of the words. Loan words, included in this analysis, 23 per cent of which are Istro-Venetian, were found to be in the semantic fields of Customs and institutions as well as Life, marriage and family. The analysis included in this article, based on a written material, cannot yet offer clear and final rules on Istro-Venetian loan words in Savrinian idioms. It anyway offers a clearer insight into the rich Venetian vocabulary that has a special place in Savrinian terminology. The Neolatin, colonising (Venetian) idiom has flooded the already existent dialect or has emalgamated with it. A proof of that are also analysed hybrid words in which Istrian and Venetian linguistic elements merge together, evidencing cohabitation and connection between Romance and Slavic worlds. The purpose of further research work is to exactly define the occurance of Istro-Venetian loan words in a given area, and thus contribute to new important findings for Slovenian and Italian dialectology
