4. Institutional work in total institutions and the perspective of the persons that have lived in residential treatment institutionsMitja Krajnčan, Boštjan Bajželj, 2015, strokovni članek Opis: Institutional work includes all kinds of psychosocial assistance that offers, to people that need them, living environments and immediate environments adapted to their age, problems, disorders, and state. The diversity and dilemmas of institutional work represent the central theoretical discourse that the authors are researching in the explanations of the total institution, the exact answers regarding the help the youth that involuntarily find themselves in such institutions receive. The continued development of the discourse logically proceeds into deinstitutionalisation. Semi-structured interviews of adults that have spent their youth in such institutions represent the empirical part of the research. Extreme psychosocial pressures make the youth deviate away from goal orientation and the purpose of the institutions% operations. So, additionally, the authors have gathered a collection of good and bad experiences to bring attention to the many imperfections that should not be self-evident. The key problems that people that have stayed in such institutions a decade ago would like to give light to are the non-existence of logic and specific learning and practical competences that would benefit them in the life outside of the institution. They also stressed the lack of using the quality relations that had been established in the institution as support in post-treatment. 6. Can an ethical work climate influence payment discipline?Tanja Šalamon, Maja Meško, 2016, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Purpose: All European companies are faced with the lack of payment discipline, which often affects even their survival. One of the key reasons for the lack of payment discipline is poor business ethics, which is primarily introduced with the subject of ethical climate in the literature. For this reason, we wanted to determine whether a company%s ethical climate influences its payment discipline. Design/methodology/approach: In the research, we used Arnaud%s measurement instrument (2010) that helped us to identify six dimensions of ethical climate. The data about a company%s ethical climate were later compared with the data about its payment discipline, calculated using the Dun & Bradstreet rating agency methodology. We included in the sample 273 Slovenian companies, which represented 9.1% of all companies invited to take part in the survey (2978 Slovenian enterprises with 10 or more employees). Findings: We established that (among the six dimensions of the ethical climate) the dimension %moral sensitivity % the lack of norms of empathetic concern% had statistically significant influence on the average delay of payment, and the more significant for the company the lack of norms of empathetic concern was, the longer the delay of the payment to suppliers would be. Our conclusion is that the appropriate forms of the incorporation of training and education on ethical subjects into business studies may increase the payment discipline of companies. Originality/value: The present study represents an important contribution to understanding the causes of payment defaults. The study also includes non-financial antecedents of payment discipline, which represents a new, important contribution of the research. 8. Flexible but segmentes labour marketsJanez Šušteršič, Tanja Kosi, Bojan Nastav, 2011, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci Opis: The article is the first analysis of student work in Slovenia based on a sample of individual-level data rather than a survey. The first part presents aggregated data on the extent and cost of student work, comparing them to relevant labour market aggregates and considering the competitiveness of students in the labour market. The second part provides statistical tests of the common assumption that working students, due to their preferential tax and regulatory treatment, crowd out some other groups of job seekers from the labour market. It is shown that student work has a statistically significant and quantitatively non-negligible positive impact on the rate of youth unemployment (under the age of 30), especially on the unskilled segment. However, there is no evidence on its impact on the unemployment of young graduates.
