Abstract:Psihokardiologija je veda, ki raziskuje psihološke dejavnike, povezane z razvojem in prisotnostjo koronarne bolezni. Znano je, da je zdravje eno samo. Telesne motnje neizogibno vplivajo na naše duševno počutje in obratno. Psihološki dejavniki, denimo določene osebnostne lastnosti, prisotnost duševnemotnje ali izpostavljenost dolgotrajnemu stresu, pomembno prispevajo k razvoju in poteku kardiovaskularnih težav ter negativno vplivajo na učinkovitost zdravljenja. V našem preglednem članku predstavljamo najpomembnejša psihokardiološka spoznanja od začetkov te vede do današnjih dni, vključno s smernicami za psihokardiologijo 21. stoletja.

Abstract:Psychocardiology is a scientific discipline that investigates psychological factors associated with the development of coronary heart disease. It is well known that there is only one health. Somatic disorders inevitably influence our mental well-being, and vice versa. Psychological factors, such as specificpersonality traits, mental disorders and exposure to continuous stress, significally affect the development and the course of cardiovascular problems, and interfere with effective treatment. This review article presentsthe most important findings of psychocardiology research from the beginnings of this scientific discipline until today, and provides guidelines for the psychocardiology of the 21st century.
