Abstract:Depresija je vodilni vzrok obolevnosti in umrljivosti.

Abstract:Depression is a leading course of morbidity and mortality. The majority of depressed patients seek attention first from their primary care physician, whomostly prescribes pharmacological treatment alone. There is evidence that integrating physical exercise into therapy can improve treatment outcomes for many patients with depression or anxiety. In practice, exercise can be used asan augmentation therapy in partial responders to pharmacological treatment and cognitive-behavioral therapy, or as an adjunct treatment in patients with very specific residual symptoms of depression. The aim of this paper is to stimulate the endeavors to prepare and conduct physical activity pilot programmes for patients with depression in Slovenia.
Keywords:depression, physical exercise
