Abstract:Prenova predmetov Kako stvari delujejo (KSD) in Metodični praktikum (MP) v študijskem programu Pedagoška fizika Fakultete za matematiko in fiziko (FMF) Univerze v Ljubljani (UL) je bila zasnovana kot odgovor na sodobne izzive visokošolskega izobraževanja. Ti zahtevajo integracijo ciljev trajnostnega razvoja (CTR) Agende 2030 Združenih narodov (ZN) in digitalnih kompetenc v pedagoški proces. V okviru predmeta KSD so bili posodobljeni sklopi vsebin, ki obravnavajo energetsko učinkovitost svetlobnih virov, življenjske cikle tehnologij in njihove okoljske vplive. Poudarek je na povezovanju fizikalnih modelov z vprašanji trajnostne rabe energije. Predmet spodbuja aktivno učenje in kritično razpravo. Študenti izvajajo numerične integracije Planckove funkcije, spektroskopske meritve ter izračune prihrankov energije in emisij. V prenovljenem predmetu MP je bil poudarek na razvoju digitalnih kompetenc bodočih učiteljev fizike z uporabo pametnih telefonov in aplikacije Phyphox, ki hkrati prispeva k trajnostnemu izobraževanju z zmanjšanjem potrebe po dragi opremi in s spodbujanjem dostopnosti (CTR 12). Metodološki okvir prenove temelji na znanstvenoraziskovalnem učnem pristopu (angl. Investigative Science Learning Environment – ISLE). Pilotna izvedba je pokazala povečano motivacijo in angažiranost študentov, globlje razumevanje trajnostnih konceptov preko fizikalnih modelov ter okrepitev digitalnih kompetenc.

Title:Overhaul of the Courses How Things Work and Methodological Laboratory in the Physics Teacher Education Programme at FMF UL
Abstract:The revision of the courses How Things Work and Methodological Laboratory within the Physics Teacher Education Programme at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana, was designed as a strategic response to current challenges in higher education that require the integration of sustainability and digital literacy into the pedagogical process. In the course How Things Work, the curriculum was enriched with content addressing the energy efficiency of light sources, life cycle analysis of technologies, and their environmental impact, emphasising the connection between physical models and issues of sustainable energy use. The course fosters active learning and critical discussion through numerical integration of Planck’s function, spectroscopic measurements, and calculations of energy savings and emission reductions. The revised course Methodological Laboratory focuses on developing future physics teachers’ digital competences by introducing smartphones and the Phyphox application, which also contributes to sustainable education competences by reducing dependence on costly laboratory equipment and promoting accessibility (SDG 12). The methodological foundation of the revision is the investigative science learning environment (ISLE). Pilot implementation demonstrated increased student motivation and engagement, a deeper understanding of sustainability concepts through physical models, and strengthened digital competences. The curriculum overhaul thus strengthened the quality of physics teacher education and prepared graduates to effectively integrate sustainability and digital competences into contemporary classroom practice.
