Abstract:Poslušanje glasbe je ustvarjalen proces ponovnega vživljanja vanjo. Na čustvene in miselne procese poslušanja glasbe vplivajo okolje, glasba, posrednik in poslušalec sam.

Title:Children's participation in environment organization and music choices
Abstract:Listening to music is a creative process of immersing oneself into music. Emotional and cognitive processes of listening to music are influenced by: the environment, the music, the mediator and the listener himself/herself. Teachers are faced with the challenge, how to plan and implement the activity of listening to music by taking into account the mentioned influencing factors. The solution lies in children's participation and in the model of process-developmental planning. The paper discusses listening to music in preschools, where children can participate in environment organisation and in choosing the music for listening. On average, the research was conducted among 22 children and was designed as a case study for classes of children in the second age group. Observation and recording as well as the analysis of documentation material have shown that children are becoming aware of the importance of the environment when listening to music. What is more, they express their wish for changing the environment in connection with the feelings, which they experience while listening to music. Their environment plans reveal their ability for the selection of information or the influencing factors. Their drawings include those elements, which are important for the child%s successful listening to music. Furthermore, the research has shown that children have a strategy for choosing music from the playlist. Their music choices reveal that they are open to various kinds of music, although they prefer the music that surprises them. They are especially drawn to various sound effects as well as quick dynamic and timbre contrasts that awaken various feelings and moods. The revealed possibilities for the participation of children and children's competence determine the need for further development and research of didactic approaches to listening to music.
