Title:Student success in music education inside and outside an elementary school
Abstract:One of the basic didactic principles, which guarantee success of the music education process, is the student activity during classes. Music activities can be various and differently interpreted, which means it is necessary to consider different didactics approaches and to excel in wider knowledge of the music area. Theoretical debates at home and abroad are confirming the facts from the article.Taking into consideration principles of individualization, differentiation and inclusion, activity of an individual student should manifest effectively as music participation on motoric, emotional and intellectual area. Level of student success in music classes depends from the evolvement of their musical abilities, which represents additional challenge to a teacher and emphasizes teacher's responsibility for optimal music education of every individual. Success mainly depends on suitably evolved teacher's music abilities and his professional music and didactic proficiency. In the empirical part we present the results of the research, which shows that extra-curricular music activities have a positive influence on success and increase the activity of the students, during music lessons. From these results we can summarize the important fact: rise in quantity of music activities positively influences the quality of music education and increases a wish for more music creating and recreating as well as for more music perception.
