On a conjecture of Erdős on size Ramsey number of star forests
Akbar Davoodi, Ramin Javadi, Azam Kamranian, Ghaffar Raeisi, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: Given two graphs F_1 and F_2, their size Ramsey number, denoted by r̂(F_1, F_2), is the minimum number of edges of a graph G such that for any edge coloring of G by colors red and blue, G contains either a red copy of F1 or a blue copy of F2. In this paper, we deal with the size Ramsey number of star forests (disjoint union of stars) and following a conjecture by Burr, Erdős, Faudree, Rousseau, and Schelp in 1978, we determine the exact value of r̂(⊔_{i = 1}^s K_{1, ni}, ⊔_{i = 1}^t K_{1, mi}) in several cases including when either m_i’s and n_i’s are odd, or s = 1 or s = 2 and n_1 = n_2.

On some extremal position problems for graphs
James Tuite, Elias John Thomas, Ullas Chandran S.V., 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: The general position number of a graph G is the size of the largest set of vertices S such that no geodesic of G contains more than two elements of S. The monophonic position number of a graph is defined similarly, but with `induced path' in place of `geodesic'. In this paper we investigate some extremal problems for these parameters. Firstly we discuss the problem of the smallest possible order of a graph with given general and monophonic position numbers. We then determine the asymptotic order of the largest size of a graph with given general or monophonic position number, classifying the extremal graphs with monophonic position number two. Finally we establish the possible diameters of graphs with given order and monophonic position number.

Sizes of eight oviparous elasmobranch species hatched in two Mediterranean areas : a survey and recent data
Christian Capapé, Mohamed Ben Salem, Mohamed Mourad Ben Amor, 2007, original scientific article

Abstract: In the present paper, the authors report on the size of eight oviparous elasmobranch species hatched in two Mediterranean areas: off the Tunisian coast (central Mediterranean) and Languedocian coast (southern France, northern Mediterranean). Most of the observations were made in experimental conditions, from egg cases placed in tanks. For each species, no intraspecific variation was observed between specimens from both areas. In contrast, new hatched small spotted catsharks from the Mediterranean appeared to be smaller than those from the Atlantic.
