1. Hospitality Hurdles : An Expedition into the Challenges Facing the Hotel IndustrySwagat Praharaj, Bibhuti Bhusan Mishra, Uma Sankar Mishra, Rashmi Ranjan Panigrahi, Padma Charan Mishra, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The study aims to empower hotel operators in prospective tourist spots, aiding informed decision-making in navigating the dynamic hospitality landscape. The study investigates challenges in the hotel industry to aid practitioners and researchers. It combines secondary data from expert blogs and research articles with primary data from 230 Indian hotel managers surveyed via a Likert scale questionnaire from January to March 2024. Validity and reliability are ensured through first-order constructs. Data analysis utilizes SPSS-22 for exploratory factor analysis and Amos17 for confirmatory factor analysis. Theoretical frameworks from prior literature were examined to inform the selection of variables. A two-part questionnaire was devised to gather demographic information, years of experience, etc., followed by a section employing a 5-point Likert scale to explore our proposed hypothesis. Initially identifying twenty-seven global challenges, the study highlights three key factors – marketing, operational, and human resources – relevant to the Indian context, encompassing 25 specific challenges. Notably, challenges in the Economic/Financial Factor show low manifestation in India. The study emphasizes the burgeoning tourism potential in Eastern India and the proactive measures taken by hotel industries to meet global guest demands. While Eastern India is the primary focus, insights extend to emerging tourist destinations worldwide. 2. The Panorama of Digital Education in the XXI CenturyPedro Tadeu, Carlos Brigas, 2025, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: This chapter aims to analyse digital education in the twenty-first century, a complicated topic with tremendous advancements and challenges. We analyse digital education from different angles and like this we want to analyse his substantial significance in the modern education framework. This approach highlights several benefits, such as extensive educational opportunities, engaging and dynamic learning opportunities, and tailored training that meets each learner's needs. However, we also discuss the inherent challenges that the digital education brings to us nowadays, they include the availability and fairness, the technology limitations, and the absence of in-person social interaction. Another important aspect to analyse is the significant impact of the digital education on the pedagogical approaches and how the digital education could affect globalisation, specifically how it might help people engage across cultural boundaries and overcome specific constraints. To conclude, we also analyse new trends like gamification, virtual and augmented reality, and artificial intelligence to find possible future directions for digital education. The chapter ends by stating that to fully realise the potential of digital education and create an inclusive and successful learning environment for the future, these opportunities and challenges must be continuously explored. 3. Unveiling Organizational AI Adoption Patterns in Italian Companies through the Lens of the Diffusion of Innovations TheoryGrazia Garlatti Costa, Francesco Venier, Roberto Pugliese, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper investigates the adoption and integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies within a sample of 237 Italian enterprises using the Diffusion of Innovations (DOI) theory as the theoretical framework. It examines the characteristics of companies leading in AI adoption, evaluating their alignment with the innovator and early adopter profiles defined by Everett Rogers in 2003 within the DOI framework. The research emphasizes AI’s significant role in enhancing operational efficiency, fostering innovation, securing competitive advantage, and driving long-term growth. It also identifies challenges such as lack of skills, data management issues, and ethical concerns. Our findings contribute empirical evidence to the academic literature on the DOI theory, addressing the underexplored context of AI in Italy. The study provides a nuanced perspective on AI’s impact on employment and sets a foundation for future research, offering managerial insights for strategically deploying AI.

4. Implementation of the Slovenian act on the treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural problems or disorders in educationMatej Vukovič, Mitja Krajnčan, Katja Vrhunc Pfeifer, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: In 2020, Slovenia implemented the Act on the Treatment of Children and Adolescents With Emotional and Behavioural Problems or Disorders in Education. Using a mixed-methods approach, we investigated how professionals in expert centres1 and social work centres, youth judges, and paedopsychiatrists, as key stakeholders responsible and competent for the professional and lawful treatment of such youth, seek and implement the most appropriate forms of assistance for them, and how they assess the implementation of the Act and the cooperation amongst them. Data were collected through four tailored questionnaires, as well as focus groups and semi-structured interviews. The research is part of a larger Slovenian study entitled Phenomenological and aetiological analysis of emotional and behavioural problems and disorders and the development of didactic approaches for specific subtypes of problems and disorders, not yet published. Based on the opinions of these experts from various fields, we identified shortcomings in the system of support, including what should be eliminated or changed, and what new forms of support and cooperation among stakeholders would be reasonable and necessary to introduce. The results of the survey are also important for understanding the competences, responsibilities, and cooperation among social work centres, expert centres, paedopsychiatrists, and youth judges. 5. Innovative teaching methods in higher education : the case of University of PrimorskaTina Štemberger, Andreja Klančar, 2025, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: The paper addresses the use of innovative teaching methods in higher education, specifically at the University of Primorska (UP). In the last decades, the use of digital technologies in teaching has undoubtably changed both, teaching and learning process. However, not much research has focused on using innovative teaching methods in higher education settings, so the aims of the study were to (i) determine how frequently higher education professors use different teaching strategies and methods and tools, digital tools and generative AI tools, (ii) what kind of challenges they face in this context and (iii) which competences would they need to better implement innovative teaching methods into their teaching. Data was gathered with questionnaire which was administered in spring 2024. A total of 74 academic staff members of UP participated in the study. The results in general show that higher education professors frequently use as problem-based learning, team-based learning, and scenario-based learning, while gamification, design thinking, and cooperative learning are underutilized. They frequently use Google Drive and YouTube. The major barriers for using more innovative teaching strategies and methods are time constraints, limited access to resources and technology, and lack of pedagogical and digital skills, so they express the need for targeted training in digital tools, AI, and innovative teaching methods, as well as strategies for engaging students and managing large groups.
