Impact of the INDUSAC project through co-creation between students and industry
Duško Odić, Urška Mrgole, Robert Premk, Špela Kunej, Marjeta Trobec, 2026, strokovni članek

Opis: The Horizon Europe inDUsaC project, coordinated by the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia, introduced an innovative mechanism for facilitating knowledge transfer between companies and students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. During the project, students and re searchers across Europe were given the opportunity to address compa ny-defined challenges through short-term co-creation projects lasting between four and eight weeks. In total, 303 individuals, organised into 159 international teams, success fully completed their projects, with students receiving financial compen sation for their contributions. This paper provides an overview of the addressed company challenges, which spanned a wide range of domains, including health, education and nutrition; modern living; products and accessories; energy and environment; industrial processes and engineer ing; and business solutions. This diversity demonstrates the breadth of the project’s impact, with ap proximately half of the participating companies being small enterprises with up to 10 employees, and with strong participation from eU Widen ing countries. By presenting 159 successful collaborations that generated valuable outputs for companies and enabled students to acquire practical skills, the inDUsaC project demonstrates: (i) tangible social impact; (ii) the feasibility of an effective and attractive mechanism that provides compa nies with innovative ideas while offering students meaningful incentives to gain experience and strengthen their professional networks; and (iii) the critical role of a public research organisation in facilitating such exchanges.

Co-Creation and Destination Image : A Bibliometric and Thematic Analysis Using CiteSpace
Tuyen Tran, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Co-creation has gained increasing scholarly attention as an approach for involving tourists, residents, and stakeholders in shaping destination image. However, existing research is fragmented, lacking an integrated review of its conceptual foundations, thematic evolution, and implications. This study aims to address this gap by mapping the intellectual structure and emerging trends of co-creation and destination images. A bibliometric and thematic analysis was conducted on 72 peer-reviewed publications indexed in Scopus, using CiteSpace for co-citation and keyword co-occurrence mapping, complemented by Scopus AI for trend identification. The analysis revealed four thematic clusters: destination branding, stakeholder engagement, emotional experience, and digital interaction. Results demonstrate that co-creation operates as a multidimensional, layered process, enhancing emotional attachment, destination loyalty, and brand value, rather than a single experiential design activity. The study concludes that co-creation plays a structurally significant role in destination branding and stakeholder engagement, as demonstrated by the dominant clusters in the bibliometric and thematic analyses. By synthesising existing knowledge and identifying research gaps, this paper offers a comprehensive reference for academics and practitioners, reinforcing the relevance of co-creation in destination management.

Public perceptions of generative AI in creative industries : a Reddit-based text mining study
Mitja Bervar, Mirjana Pejić Bach, Tine Bertoncel, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The integration of generative AI into creative industries is reshaping how content is produced, evaluated, and distributed. While recent advancements offer new opportunities for automation and innovation, they also raise questions about authorship, authenticity, and professional identity. This study examines public discourse on generative AI in creative domains through a text-mining analysis of nearly 4000 Reddit posts and comments. Drawing on six relevant subreddits from 2022 to 2025, the research investigates the structure of user engagement, interaction dynamics, and language patterns. It identifies dominant terms and phrases related to AI creativity, explores thematic clusters, and compares discussion styles across key tools such as Midjourney, ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, and DALL·E. Additionally, it provides a sentiment overview based on automated classification and narrative interpretation. The findings show that Reddit users engage with generative AI not only as a set of technical tools but as a source of cultural, ethical, and creative negotiation. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how digital transformation in creative industries is shaped by public perception, platform discourse, and evolving community norms.

Generative artificial intelligence and the creative industries : a bibliometric review and research agenda
Mitja Bervar, Tine Bertoncel, Mirjana Pejić Bach, 2026, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is increasingly transforming creative industries through its ability to generate high-quality content, raising critical questions about authorship, ownership, and the future of creative labor. This paper addresses these challenges by conducting a systematic bibliometric review of 119 peer-reviewed articles on GenAI in the creative sectors, published between 2023 and 2025. The study applies PRISMA 2020 guidelines and keyword co-occurrence analysis using VOSviewer to identify thematic clusters and map research trends. The central research question is how the academic literature conceptualizes the role and impact of GenAI within creative industries and how this has evolved over time. Findings reveal nine major thematic areas, ranging from technical implementations to ethical, economic, and institutional perspectives. The analysis shows that recent research emphasizes not only the technological capacities of GenAI, but also its implications for value creation, creative agency, and industry structures. The main contribution of the paper lies in offering a structured overview of current research trajectories, clarifying conceptual ambiguities, and highlighting understudied areas—particularly regarding the intersection of GenAI, platform economies, and labor dynamics. The review also identifies a methodological gap in comparative empirical studies and proposes directions for future research. By mapping the evolving discourse on GenAI in creative industries, this study contributes to both scholarly understanding and policy development. It provides a foundation for interdisciplinary inquiry and a forward-looking agenda for critically assessing GenAI’s role in reshaping creative work.
