Conceptualisation of Forest Tourism : The Kočevsko Case Study
Barbara Pavlakovič Farrell, Vita Petek, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This paper presents the definition of forest tourism and three varieties of forest tourism activities. An empirical study was conducted to examine the perception of forest tourism and forest activities in the case study of the Kočevsko forest in Slovenia. The triangulation approach consisted of a survey among Slovenian tourists, interviews with tourism stakeholders, and content analysis of promotional elements of the Kočevsko destination. The data showed that tourists find forest destinations interesting, safe, unspoilt, and suitable for young people and families. They describe forest tourism with the words ‘bear’, ‘forest’, and ‘nature’. The respondents mostly prefer outdoor forest activities, wildlife observation slightly less, and lastly the relaxation options. The knowledge gained could help forest destinations to develop their products and adopt the appropriate customer approach.

Enabling cross-sectoral transformation for coastal climate adaptation in Europe : four directions for interdisciplinary efforts
Kristof Tomej, Carla Garcia-Lozano, Josep Vila-Subiros, Alberto Innocenti, Emil Juvan, Olivier Le Pape, Niels Tobias Arnoldussen, Jonathan Verschuuren, Timothy Taylor, Gesche Huebner, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Coastal areas in Europe are of immense value – not only to their residents but also to communities further inland. At the same time, they are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. The current pace of coastal climate adaptation remains slow, constrained by underfunding and the fragmented, sectoral nature of many initiatives. This calls for radically new yet practical approaches. In this perspective, a group of European researchers from diverse disciplines explores what cross-sectoral transformation could mean in the context of coastal climate adaptation. Drawing on expertise in environmental science, spatial planning, law, ecology, health, and tourism, we propose four directions for interdisciplinary research to enable such transformation: (1) developing dynamic and holistic understandings of climate impacts and adaptation responses; (2) establishing shared adaptation objectives and priorities across sectors; (3) promoting ecosystem-based development; and (4) adapting legal and institutional systems to support integration and flexibility. We invite scholars and practitioners to engage with these interdependent directions to advance adaptation efforts for European coasts.

Opis: Foraging wild plants and mushrooms can be both beneficial and detrimental to biodiversity. We examine the role of stewardship practices, which are grounded in care, knowledge, and agency, in fostering sustainable use of wild species. These practices are pervasive among foragers across social–ecological systems yet neglected in research and policymaking.

Perceptions on 'effective' head teacher's leadership within the Slovenian context
Silva Roncelli-Vaupot, Anita Trnavčevič, 2013, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The paper presents some research findings about effective head teacher leadership within the Slovene post secondary school context which indicate the dimensions of head teacher leadership processes. The head teachers responses to a questionnaire indicating features of knowledge about leadership, which were captured in four interpretative categories, namely being, knowing, acting, and effecting. Furthermore, the findings of some case studies gave a funneled perspective on contextually bounded leadership knowledge. The present paper points to dimensions of and to the nature of knowledge about leadership and, moreover, to some dilemmas and questions about the ways in which knowledge about leadership could be understood and learned.
