The role of eco-anxiety in reproductive wish during emerging adulthood
Anaja Kos, Vlasta Novak Zabukovec, Vesna Posavčević, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Aims/Background: Eco-anxiety is one of the most common psy- chological reactions to environmental issues and is associated with both past and anticipated events. Younger generations are parti- cularly conscious of their responsibilities, which, in turn, influence their reproductive wish. Design/Methods: In this study, the connection between the men- tal health construct of eco-anxiety and reproductive wish was examined to better understand the influence of environmental issues during emerging adulthood. Responses were analysed from 324 Slovenian participants aged 18 to 30 years, who completed four online questionnaires: the Hogg Eco-Anxiety Scale, the Hope Scale, the CES-D, and the STAI X-2. Results: The discriminative validity of eco-anxiety was confirmed, and a significant correlation between eco-anxiety and reproductive wish was identified. Specifically, participants with higher levels of eco-anxiety expressed lower desire to have children. This relation- ship was further explored with reference to gender, age, education level, self-assessed financial independence, anxiety, depression, and hope based on denial. Conclusion: The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of how environmental issues exert influence on reproductive decision- making through their impact on mental health. The need to adapt existing interventions and develop new educational programmes is emphasised to support younger generations in navigating the transition to adulthood. These initiatives should aim to enhance knowledge and awareness of the mental health impacts of environ- mental concerns, promote effective coping strategies, and foster resilience. Such efforts could assist in managing eco-anxiety and cultivating a more positive outlook on the future.

The Composer’s Association of Macedonia in the past and present : combining professionalism and nationality
Nataša Didenko, 2026, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji

Opis: With the establishment of the Composers Association of Macedonia in 1947 in Skopje as an artistic professional organisation, the construction and development of Macedonian musical creativity began. The challenges posed by different historical periods have encouraged the Composers Association of Macedonia to undertake various activities in order to stimulate the development of musical creation and science, but also to define the importance of its members in the preservation and promotion of Macedonian musical culture. Hence, in the paper, through the methods of historical, analytical and comparative research, we gain knowledge about the constant growth of the Composers Association of Macedonia, which over the past eight decades has been a driver of musical life in Macedonia and a focal point of progressive creative ideas.

Plants in danger : floral and other plant traits as drivers of vulnerability in Mediterranean countries
Amparo Lázaro, Anastasia Stefanaki, Martha Charitonidou, Joana Cursach, Maria Panitsa, Ioannis Bazos, Rosa Ranalli, Mauro Fois, Marta Galloni, Gianluigi Bacchetta, Živa Fišer, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Plants with complex floral morphologies are adapted to be pollinated by restricted pollinator assemblages and may suffer pollinator limitation. Understanding how floral traits and other variables relate to plant vulnerability can provide a powerful tool for predicting the conservation status and prioritizing the assessment of plants with scarce field data. Using circa 3000 records of rare and threatened (sensu IUCN) entomophilous plant taxa from seven Mediterranean countries, we evaluated how six floral traits and other eight intrinsic and extrinsic variables were related to plant vulnerability (less vs. more threatened plants). Besides, we analyzed 29 experts' opinions regarding the floral traits most related to floral complexity. Floral shape, reproductive unit, and flowering duration were good vulnerability indicators. Taxa with lip- and flag-shaped flowers were the most threatened, which agrees with the opinion of experts who considered lip- and flag-shaped flowers to have more complex morphologies. Also, plants with cylindrical inflorescences or solitary flowers were more threatened than those with flat-spherical inflorescences; and longer flowering durations reduced the probability of being threatened. Regarding extrinsic variables, coastal and freshwater habitats, i.e. habitats heavily impacted by human activities, had the highest percentage of highly threatened taxa. Yet, plant vulnerability decreased with maximum elevation and total distribution range. These results may serve as a basis for managers and practitioners when field data are scarce or unavailable, so that, depending on their traits, species could be provisionally listed in Red Lists as deserving priority for assessment to ascertain conservation status and actions.

Perspektiva moških in žensk v procesu skrbi za reproduktivno zdravje
Anton Grmšek Svetlin, Nika Jerina, Melisa Smajlović, Mirko Prosen, Rebeka Lekše, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Research Questions (RQ):What factors do men and women think influence the quality of their reproductive health? What differences exist between men and women in their perception of their own reproductive health? How do stigmas and taboos affect reproductive health?Purpose:The purpose of this research wasto examine the perspectives of men and women in the process of reproductive health care.Method:Qualitative method was used.Data was collectedfrom a purposive sample throughfourfocus groups. The data was analyzed using content analysis. Results:Results: three themes were identified through the qualitative analysis method: (1) reproductive health of men and women, (2) socio-cultural aspects of reproductive health, and (3) challenges of reproductive health. At the same time, 13 sub-themes were identified. The study showed that primary socialization has a significant impact on an individual's attitudes towards reproductive health in adulthood. It was found that women are more concerned about reproductive health than men. It was also found that stigmas and taboos, which prevent open discussion about reproductive health, have a major impact on the quality of reproductive health. This leads to lack of information, fear, discrimination and inequalities in access to healthservices.Organization:The research highlights the need for more education and emphasis on preventive care and reducing social exclusion and stigma related to reproductive health.Society:The results of the research contribute to a better understanding of men's and women's perceptions of reproductive health and how they think it is influenced by society. In this context, it also provides a better understanding of how stigmas and taboos affect reproductive health and how to seek help when reproductive health problems arise.Originality:The research provides insights into the specific nature of men's and women's reproductive health and how society views it. The originality of the research is that it offers a broad insight into how men and women understand reproductive health. It also provides an outline of the current state of reproductive health in society.Limitations/Future Research: The answers obtained from the participantsare subjective in nature and are subject to interpretation by the researchers. It would be useful to conduct quantitative type of studies in the future. Also, one of the limitations is related to the research sample, which includes a set of participantsfrom two Slovenian regions. In the future, it would be necessary to include participantsfrom the whole of Slovenia so that the results can be generalizedto the whole population.

Growth, morphology and reproductive phenology of Gelidium adriaticum (Gelidiales, Rhodophyta) from the Slovenian coast (Gulf of Trieste, northern Adriatic)
Claudio Battelli, Peter Glasnović, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The occurrence, growth, external morphology and reproductive phenology of a Gelidium adriaticum settlement from the midlittoral zone in St. Simon Bay (Slovenian coast, Gulf of Trieste, northern Adriatic Sea) were investigated. The study was based on monthly sampling conducted for one year, from January to December 2023. The studied settlement was well developed in shaded rock crevices, forming dense turfs with a very patchy and irregular distribution. It was character-ized by a slight predominance of tetrasporic thalli, with a ratio between the three reproductive stages (tetrasporic:sterile:cystocarpic) of 1.19:1.04:1.00. The mean values of the morphological characteristics studied (height and width of the thallus, width of the widest part of the thallus axis, width of the apical, middle and basal parts of the erect axes) varied between seasons and reproductive stages. In general, these values were lower in the cystocarpic thalli than those in the tetrasporic and sterile stages in all seasons.
