1. Men in educational professionsMitja Krajnčan, Matej Vukovič, Urša Rozman, Katja Vrhunc Pfeifer, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Men have traditionally been underrepresented in the teaching profession, impacting the dynamics of the educational system and gender equality in pedagogical work. This study analyzes the social, cultural, and institutional factors influencing men’s decisions to pursue a teaching career and evaluates their professional experiences. The research is based on quantitative data collected through a survey questionnaire and theoretical frameworks such as Bourdieu’s concept of social habitus and Connell’s theory of masculinity. Findings indicate that men in educational professions often face stereotypes, occupational barriers, and different expectations regarding career advancement compared to their female colleagues. The study provides policy recommendations to promote gender diversity in teaching professions. 2. Dataset of vocabulary in Uzbek primary education : extraction and analysis in case of the school corpusKhabibulla Madatov, Sapura Sattarova, Jernej Vičič, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The main goal of this research work is to determine the number of new words that a primary school pupil should know/acquire during each academic year. To accomplish this, we have created two datasets. The first dataset was compiled based on the "Explanatory Vocabulary of the Uzbek Language" (EDUL). The second dataset was created from 35 primary school textbooks for grades 1-4 approved by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and it was named the "Uzbek Primary School Corpus" (UPSC) by authors. Using the "Comparative Lemma Extraction Method" (CLEM) proposed by the authors of the article, a vocabulary for grades 1-4 was created, and the problem of determining the number of new words (disregarding word forms as Uzbek is a morphologically rich language) that primary school pupils should learn each academic year was solved. 3. Using inquiry-based learning for developing university students’ digital skillsMojca Žefran, Silva Bratož, 2025, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: In recent years, the development of digital skills has been encouraged at all levels of education. For this purpose, innovative pedagogies and approaches aimed at fostering learners’ active participation, critical skills, and autonomy have been proposed. In this paper, we focus on the benefits of using the inquiry-based approach (IBL) for developing education students’ digital skills. A design-based study was conducted with a group of students (n=38) in the primary education study programme with a view to identifying students’ attitudes towards IBL as well as their experiences and challenges encountered in the process. The design-based scenario followed the 5E inquiry-based instructional model (engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation). Data for this study was gathered through an online survey, a focus group discussion, and through an in-depth analysis of the IBL scenario. The results indicate that students hold positive attitudes towards IBL. The most significant challenge identified was the application of critical thinking skills to locate and evaluate relevant research sources.
