Lower-limb damping characteristics during various repetitive jumping forms : reliability and sensitivity analysis
Marko Kapeleti, Marc Elmeua González, Igor Zlatović, David Nikolić, Oskar Cvjetičanin, Nejc Šarabon, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: An essential aspect of jumping performance is the ability to control impact forces. One of the key measures of this ability is the damping ratio, a dimensionless parameter that quantifies the rate at which oscillations decay following a disturbance. This study aims to assess the intra-session and inter-session reliability of damping ratios at different lower-limb anatomical landmarks and evaluate their sensitivity in detecting differences between various repetitive jumping forms, with an emphasis on establishing a specific methodological approach. Twenty-three physically active male and female students performed maximal countermovement jumps (CMJs) and bilateral (BL) and unilateral (UL) hopping (HOP). Ten wireless inertial measurement units recorded inertial data of five bilateral lower-limb anatomical landmarks. Results showed that the damping ratios during CMJ and HOPUL demonstrated good reliability, whereas in HOPBL were moderately reliable. The damping ratios of nearly all the anatomical landmarks differed between the jumping forms. CMJ had the highest values, HOPBL the lowest, and HOPUL values in between, likely due to variations in joint stiffness and amplitude displacement, as well as stretch‒shortening cycle reliance. Methodologically, using 20 repetitions in an intra-session trial and averaging left and right sides for inter-session reliability and inter-jump sensitivity, damping ratios are acceptably reliable and sufficiently sensitive for biomechanical analysis of different repetitive jumping forms. This metric could potentially be a valuable tool in developing theoretical nonlinear multibody mass‒spring‒damper models and could enhance biomechanical analysis with practical applications in sports training and rehabilitation.

Enhancing knowledge and technology transfer : determinants and indicators of successful university–industry collaboration
Jana Hojnik, Štefan Bojnec, Simona Kustec, Vaida Zemlickienė, Zenonas Turskis, 2026, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: Both universities and companies create value and innovation to maintain their position and remain competitive. Different, but still similar, with two goals that are shared. With their collaboration, they can enhance their pursuit of sustainability and as well corporate social responsibility by creating and delivering value and thus contributing to the well-being of society. This paper thus examines the determinants and indicators of successful university–industry collaboration (UIC) in the context of knowledge and technology transfer. The purpose of the research is to identify key factors that drive effective UIC and to establish measurable indicators for evaluating the performance of this collaboration. The paper aimed to understand not only what drives UIC but also how to measure its effectiveness. So, an exploratory, theory-building approach, adopting a systematic literature review is applied. By focusing on the determinants and measurable outputs of UIC, the paper provides insights into the strategic importance of measuring knowledge and technology transfer for a wide range of stakeholders involved in it. UIC for universities is a part of their third mission and their CSR, while with respect for companies, UIC is a result of practicing open innovation and pursuing corporate social responsibility. While consolidating these dimensions, the study also develops a holistic input–output indicator framework that not only clarifies how collaboration is initiated and structured but also how it can be evaluated in practice.

Do agri-environmental schemes reduce farm greenhouse gas emissions? : evidence from Slovenia
Štefan Bojnec, Imre Fertő, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agriculture is a key objective of the European Union's Green Deal and is among considerations of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Agri-environmental schemes (AES) are the main CAP instruments to promote more sustainable farming, yet their short-term climate effectiveness remains uncertain. This study provides the first farm-level evidence for Slovenia on whether AES participation reduces GHG emission intensity and whether effects differ across production systems. Using a balanced panel of 227 farms from the Farm Accountancy Data Network (2014–2021), we estimate dynamic treatment effects of AES adoption on net carbon dioxide-equivalent emissions per hectare, applying modern difference-in-differences (DiD) estimators for staggered adoption and extensive robustness checks, including alternative estimators, placebo tests, and dynamic conditioning. Results show that AES adopters had higher pre-adoption emission intensity, consistent with targeted uptake by higher-emission farms. However, estimated reductions in emission intensity during the first one to two years after adoption are small, statistically insignificant, and robust across specifications. These findings suggest that broad, practice-based AES may not deliver immediate, measurable climate benefits at the farm level, either because effects take longer to materialize or because current schemes are insufficiently targeted to high-emission sources. Policies that combine more precise targeting, climate-specific measures, and long-term monitoring may be needed to unlock the full climate mitigation potential of AES.

Empowering Social Protection in Developing Economies : The Role of Climate Finance; Insights from COP28
Umar Suffian Ahmad, Ghassan H. Mardini, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Global challenges resulting from climate change, economic distress, and social confrontation are rising. In this scenario, Social Protection (SP) provides a mechanism to deal with all such issues. This research study aims to analyse the impact of SP on Conference of the Parties (COP28) Climate Financing (CF). The study is based on a panel of 32 countries that met the CF criteria for a period of 19 years. To empirically validate the impact, the Two Step System GMM method has been used. This approach deals with the endogeneity issue and provides robust analysis to account for autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity problems. The results show that CF has a significant impact on empowering SP. However, in the case of low-income countries, the impact is negative. This paper offers a novel analysis of the COP28 CF and SP framework. The study also highlights the broader policy relevance of COP28 financing frameworks. It suggests the potential to inform global climate finance, enhance cross-country allocation, and guide the integration of climate-related funding with social protection beyond developing economies.

Digital Transformation Leadership and AI Capabilities as Drivers of Sustainable Competitive Advantage : The Mediating Role of Organizational Agility in Spain’s New S-Curve Industries
Abdelhak Alioune, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The modern trend among various industrial companies to adopt digital technologies in their operations through digital transformation and reliance on artificial intelligence has become an imperative, especially with the increasing intensity of competition in global markets. To gain a realistic understanding of the role of digital transformation leadership (DTL) and AI capabilities (AIC) in achieving sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) for organizations, this study employs organizational agility (OA) as a mediating variable, based on data collected from 441 employees in Spanish ‘New S-Curve’ industries, which are innovative sectors achieving high growth returns within the framework of the ‘Spain 5.0’ national strategy. The statistical and analytical framework of Structural Equation Modelling  (SEM) revealed that DTL has a significant impact on SCA, while the effect of AIC was not significant. Furthermore, OA was found to be an important mediator, reinforcing the indirect effects of both DTL and AIC on achieving SCA for Spanish organizations.
