Menedžment za zdrav življenjski slog zaposlenih

Opis: Izhodišča: Cilj raziskave je bil ugotoviti povezanost med promocijo zdravja inpodpornostjo delovnega okolja zdravemu življenjskemu slogu v treh skupinah delovnih organizacij. Metode: 30 anketiranih menedžerjev je bilo v letu 2007 razporejenih v eksperimentalno in kontrolno skupino glede na aktivnost v programu promocije zdravja na delovnem mestu. Drugo kontrolno skupino so sestavljale organizacije Slovenske fundacije za poslovno odličnost. Podatki sobili statistično analizirani s testom ANOVA in t-testom, hi-kvadrat in korelacijo po Pearsonu. Statistična značilnost je bila določena pri 5% ali nižjem tveganju. Rezultati: Rezultati raziskave kažejo največjo skrb delovne organizacije za zdravje zaposlenih v skupini organizacij Slovenske fundacije za poslovno odličnost, kjer je zadovoljevanje potreb zaposlenih odlično in statistično boljše v primerjavi z eksperimentalno in kontrolno skupino. Statistično značilne razlike so bile ugotovljene v ponudbi zdravih živil, kolesarnic in prostora za rolerje ter programov promocije zdravja na delovnem mestu. Skupina organizacij Slovenske fundacije za poslovno odličnost je realizirala največji delež ukrepov ter načrtuje največ aktivnosti v skrbi za zdravje zaposlenih, istočasno pa izraža najmanj zanimanja za profesionalno vodene programe promocije zdravja. Na področju odgovornosti za zdravje največjo odgovornost za lastno zdravje po prepričanju menedžerjev vseh treh skupin nosi zaposleni sam. V razpoložljivosti virov za zdravje zaposlenih se je v primerjavi s kontrolno skupino bolje izkazala eksperimentalna skupina, najbolje izmed treh pa skupina organizacij Slovenske fundacije za poslovno odličnost. Zaključek: Aktivnosti delovne organizacije v podpori zdravja zaposlenih verjetno niso posledica programa promocije zdravja, kakor je bilo predpostavljeno, temveč rezultat organizacijske kulture in odnosa menedžerjev do zdravja zaposlenih.

Informiranost kot ključno vodilo do kakovosti življenja pacientov s stomo

Opis: Introduction: An ostomy, especially a permanent one, will have an impact on the quality of life of patients as it affects also their body image and self-esteem. Therefore, properpre-operative and post-operative counselling, expert care and support can significantly contribute to improvement in the quality of their lives. Aim: The goal of the research was to determine in which phase of the treatment process the stoma patients receive enough information on their condition and when the information is not sufficient. The research was designed to assess also the contribution of health care providers in their better coping with all aspects of stoma management. Method: A questionnaire was designed to obtain quantitative data on the above issues from the patients and the enterostomal therapists in Slovenia. Results: The research results show that expert advice and counselling on stoma management is mainly provided by enterostomal therapists during hospital stay. However, the primary health care providers often lack the necessary knowledge and competence for the work with patients requiring stomal therapy. The quality of information given is generally influenced by the "cognitive understanding of information" and the "psychological needs of the patient". Discussion and conclusions: Heath education of stoma patients as well as relevant education of health professionals in relation to stoma is of significance in physical and psychological aspects of stoma management at all levels of care.

Pomanjkljivosti poslovnih procesov v zdravstvenih organizacijah: primer okulistične ambulante

Opis: Purpose: The key element of any business restructuring is understanding the business processes. Yet, the importance of these processes is underestimated in the Slovene healthcare system. The aim of this study is to show that inefficient business process elements, causing unseen losses, can be identified with the help of an appropriate business process inventory Methods:The methods used in our study include literature search, direct observation, interviewing and process modelling. A direct observation study was conducted in an ophthalmology clinic, in which key business processes weremodelled using Event-Driven Process Chains, and deficiencies in the business process were identified. Results: The opthalmology outpatient clinic,which employs two people, loses around 25.5 hours of working time per month (15.2% of the total working time of a full-time employee) because of deficiencies in its business processes. Conclusion: Considering ihat such deficiencies may be encountered in a small healthcare unit with only two employees, it can be expected that the losses will be significantly higher in more complex institutions. We suggest, given these findings, that the managements of healthcare institutions address these deficiencies by conducting business process inventories and optimising processes. These activities must precede the introduction or restructuring of the information system.
