Business and technological processes optimization in automotive manufacturing : continuous improvement through process capability, operational effectiveness, and return on investment

Abstract: This study develops and empirically validates an integrated monitoring framework linking technological, operational, and financial performance indicators in automotive manufacturing. While process capability (Cpk), overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and return on investment (ROI) are widely applied, their interrelationships are rarely examined within a unified empirical framework in real production environments. The proposed model is implemented within a business and technological processes monitoring system for the production of automotive daytime running lights (DRL), combining real-time measurement, automated data acquisition, and structured process optimization. A multi-phase implementation strategy enabled the transition from manual to fully automated monitoring, supported by more than 1,400 measurements collected across key technological operations in accordance with international standards. A longitudinal case study design was applied, and statistical analyses, including correlation and regression methods, were used to examine relationships between process capability, operational performance, and financial outcomes. The results show that systematic optimization increased equipment effectiveness from 78.36 % to 85.41 % and financial return from €2.9 million to €7.98 million, while achieving process capability levels above the required thresholds (Cpk > 2). A strong statistical relationship was identified between OEE and ROI, whereas the relationship between process capability Cpk and OEE was not statistically confirmed as a direct effect. The findings indicate that technological, operational, and financial indicators are interconnected but not strictly linear, highlighting the importance of integrated monitoring for understanding performance dynamics in manufacturing systems. The proposed framework provides an empirically grounded approach for linking process stability, operational efficiency, and financial outcomes, supporting performance evaluation and continuous improvement in automotive manufacturing.

The Relationship Between Ease of Doing Business Indicators and Foreign Direct Investment in Africa

Abstract: This study examines the impact of the business environment on foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into Africa, utilising panel data from 39 African countries over the period 2005–2019. Institutional and regulatory dimensions are captured through selected indicators from the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index. A dynamic panel data approach is employed, applying the one-step difference Generalised Method of Moments (GMM) estimator to address potential endogeneity, autocorrelation,  and unobserved heterogeneity. The results indicate strong persistence in FDI, with lagged inflows exerting a significant positive effect on current levels. Among the business environment indicators, registering property is positively and significantly associated with FDI, highlighting the importance of secure property rights. Conversely, getting credit shows a significant negative relationship, suggesting that inefficiencies in credit markets may deter investment. These findings underscore the need for policy reforms aimed at streamlining property registration and enhancing credit market infrastructure to foster a more conducive environment for sustained FDI inflows and economic development.

Information systems compatibility in M&A pre-combination phase

Abstract: This paper addresses the strategic importance of information systems (IS) compatibility and complementarity in evaluating organizational fit during the pre- combination (pre-merger) phase of mergers and acquisitions (M&As). Drawing on the author’s doctoral research and updated literature, the study develops a refined conceptual framework (underpinning the IS-OFAM model) that integrates IS alignment with strategic, cultural, and operational fit dimensions. Through grounded theory–based analysis of two case studies—one in financial services and one in food processing—the paper identifies patterns of IS oversight, cultural-technical misalignment, and underleveraged IS assets. Findings show that IS compatibility often goes unassessed, while IS complementarity is undervalued as a source of post- merger innovation. The proposed IS-Organizational Fit Alignment Model (IS-OFAM) provides this conceptual framework by embedding IS assessments into early-stage due diligence and planning. The research contributes to M&A theory and practice by linking business information systems to pre-combination diagnostics and integration strategy.

Public perceptions of generative AI in creative industries : a Reddit-based text mining study

Abstract: The integration of generative AI into creative industries is reshaping how content is produced, evaluated, and distributed. While recent advancements offer new opportunities for automation and innovation, they also raise questions about authorship, authenticity, and professional identity. This study examines public discourse on generative AI in creative domains through a text-mining analysis of nearly 4000 Reddit posts and comments. Drawing on six relevant subreddits from 2022 to 2025, the research investigates the structure of user engagement, interaction dynamics, and language patterns. It identifies dominant terms and phrases related to AI creativity, explores thematic clusters, and compares discussion styles across key tools such as Midjourney, ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, and DALL·E. Additionally, it provides a sentiment overview based on automated classification and narrative interpretation. The findings show that Reddit users engage with generative AI not only as a set of technical tools but as a source of cultural, ethical, and creative negotiation. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how digital transformation in creative industries is shaped by public perception, platform discourse, and evolving community norms.

Generative artificial intelligence and the creative industries : a bibliometric review and research agenda

Abstract: Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is increasingly transforming creative industries through its ability to generate high-quality content, raising critical questions about authorship, ownership, and the future of creative labor. This paper addresses these challenges by conducting a systematic bibliometric review of 119 peer-reviewed articles on GenAI in the creative sectors, published between 2023 and 2025. The study applies PRISMA 2020 guidelines and keyword co-occurrence analysis using VOSviewer to identify thematic clusters and map research trends. The central research question is how the academic literature conceptualizes the role and impact of GenAI within creative industries and how this has evolved over time. Findings reveal nine major thematic areas, ranging from technical implementations to ethical, economic, and institutional perspectives. The analysis shows that recent research emphasizes not only the technological capacities of GenAI, but also its implications for value creation, creative agency, and industry structures. The main contribution of the paper lies in offering a structured overview of current research trajectories, clarifying conceptual ambiguities, and highlighting understudied areas—particularly regarding the intersection of GenAI, platform economies, and labor dynamics. The review also identifies a methodological gap in comparative empirical studies and proposes directions for future research. By mapping the evolving discourse on GenAI in creative industries, this study contributes to both scholarly understanding and policy development. It provides a foundation for interdisciplinary inquiry and a forward-looking agenda for critically assessing GenAI’s role in reshaping creative work.
