4. Factors affecting effectiveness of knowledge management : a case of Bosnia and Herzegovina enterprisesMirela Kljajić-Dervić, Roberto Biloslavo, 2015, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci Opis: A successful business is a business based on knowledge. In modern economy, successful companies appreciate knowledge and systematically support its creation, sharing and application within business processes. Very often knowledge is the most critical economic resource; it is therefore necessary to effectively direct and lead processes of creation or acquisition, transfer, use and exploitation of knowledge. These processes together form the concept of knowledge management. Through effective knowledge management, organizations can improve their performance and gain a competitive advantage. But first they need to identify critical success factors to develop knowledge managements in organizations. This paper shows and discusses results of the empirical study conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Based on existing research and proposed models, the study outlines six factors (i.e. organizational culture, human capital, management, organizational structure, reward system, information technology), which we believe have a direct impact on the effectiveness of knowledge management. Research data have been collected through a survey. The research sample was composed of 317 companies that employed 10 to 600 employees. Collected data were analyzed by use of the structural equation modelling. This will allow us to propose a model of influential factors for effective knowledge management. Results of the study will help organizations to better understand critical factors influencing the effectiveness of knowledge management. 5. Impact of population ageing on education level and average monthly salary : The Case of SloveniaŽiga Čepar, Marjetka Troha, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Population ageing is a contemporary problem, which does not only mean changing demographic structures, but also affects economy. Based on our research we cannot reject our main research thesis that population ageing has a significant impact on human capital in Slovenia. Using multiple regression analysis, on cross-section data of Slovenian municipalities, we cannot reject our first hypothesis that population ageing in Slovenia leads to lower education level and our second hypothesis that population ageing leads to lower average net monthly salary. Main contribution of this research therefore is the finding and empirical confirmation of the specific impact that population ageing has on human capital based on specific case of Slovenian cross section data. Results of the research imply that some measures have to take place in order to mitigate the unfavourable effects of population ageing on human capital. 10. Investments in human capital : the case of Slovene micro companiesFranko Milost, Matic Novak, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Investments in human capital (employees) include investments in the direct assurance of working abilities, investments in health and well-being and investments in loyalty to the company. These investments are crucial for the long-term existence and development of a company, but their value is not disclosed on the assets side of the classical balance sheet. The most important argument given by the proponents of this approach is that the economic benefits stemming from such investments are uncertain. However, investments in human capital are those with the highest long-term benefits for the company. Therefore, human capital is the only element of the business process that can add value. Other elements (means of production, materials and services) just transfer their value to products and services. This paper discusses the elements of investments in human capital and the methods used to evaluate these investments. This is followed by the impact that treatment of investments in employees in classical accounting has on the true and fair view of financial statements. And finally, results of the research dealing with investments in employees in Slovene micro companies are presented.
