Managing high performance: quality on the edge of chaos

Abstract: High performance management in a continuous process of balancing different definitions of quality between four distinct sets of interests. Human resources, products and services, external stakeholders, and the infra-structure of management and information system. Natural tensions exist between these interests which push and pull organizations in different directions. Under managed or over managed, this creative energy of diversity in organizational needs and interests can lead to organizational chaos resulting in poor performance ... low morale, low productivity, non-responsiveness to environmental pressures, and inefficient internal systems. The actions and practices of balancing these tensions naturally placean effective leader/manager in a position of being on the edge of the unknown. Balancing divergent meanings of quality towards complimentary goals characterizes high performance management in the complex organizations in which we find ourselves today.

Odgovornost managementa za kakovost poslovanja podjetja in trajnostni razvoj

Abstract: Kakovost poslovanja obsega uspeh in ugled podjetja ter se odraža v dobrih izidih podjetja, ki naj ne bodo le zadovoljivi, temveč vse bolj odlični. Dobri izidi nastajajo na tržišču, če delamo prave stvari (želene na trgu) in napravi način (učinkovito). Na boljse trženje vpliva tudi ugled podjetja, ki izhaja iz kakovostnih učinkov (pridelki, izdelki, storitve, blago), poslovne sposobnosti in zanesljivosti podjetja ter načela, da je podjetje prijazno okolju. Okolju prijazno podjetje pa je tisto, ki uresničuje trajnostni razvoj (sustainable development) z modrim izkoriščanjem končnih naravnih in obnovljivih virov, s pametno rabo prostora, s skrbjo za čisto okolje, nadziranjem sevanj in zmanjševanjem odpadkov, skrbjo za biolosko raznolikost ter modro rabo znanja in tehnologije. Glavni odgovorni za vse to je managementin managerji morajo s svojim ravnanjem zanesljivo uresničevati te zamisli.
