Abstract:Poglavje prinaša pregledno raziskavo primarne povezanosti glasbe z razvojem ter ustrojem človeškega relacijskega delovanja.

Title:Music as a Relational Tool in the Paediatric Settings
Abstract:This chapter presents a comprehensive examination of the primary interconnection between music and the development and structure of human relational functioning. Building on this theoretical foundation, we explore how musical interventions within paediatric hospital settings activate innate mechanisms of emotional responsiveness and attachment. These mechanisms play a critical role in supporting resilience, emotional regulation, and a sense of safety in the clinical environment. Music emerges as an effective therapeutic tool in paediatric care, significantly enhancing children’s well-being and strengthening the bond between the child, caregivers, and medical personnel. Beyond its aesthetic value, music is substantiated by a growing body of empirical research demonstrating its beneficial effects on both physiological and psychological states. The expanding literature on the developmental and regulatory impact of music—particularly in the formation of secure attachment relationships between children and their parents— continues to deepen our understanding of its underlying mechanisms. In hospital contexts, music fosters a sense of security and nurtures interpersonal connection, facilitating children’s coping with the stress associated with hospitalization and illness.
