Title:Regional contribution possibility in digital nomadic work style - from the Living Lab Practice in Slovenia and the Workcation cases in Wakayama Prefecture
The rise of mobile devices and improved network infrastructure are revolutionizing work and lifestyle through expanded remote work, including teleworking. This study focuses on Digital Nomads (DN) as a paradigm, addressing their “coliving” and synergy with local communities, using the Workation (WN) concept for reference. Results from a DN Living Learning Lab in Slovenia and a WN case in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, were summarized. Findings highlight the balance between participant mobility and location dependency, while also considering collaborations with communities inside and outside of corporate organizations. These insights can indicate diverse DN and WN strategies, emphasizing local contribution, especially in a post-pandemic context.
