Abstract:	V diplomski nalogi skušamo ugotoviti možnosti povezovanja knjžinic kot zbirk podatkov, informacij in znanja z gospodarskimi subjekti, ki te podatke, informacije ter znanja ustvarjajo in hranijo, po drugi strani pa nujno potrebujejo informacije o najnovejših dogajanjih v svetu, če želijo ostati konkurenčni. Obravnavamo tri segmente: 1) podatke, informacije in znanje kot dejavnik razvoja drubže, 2) knjižnice kot ustanove, ki te podatke, informacije in znanja zbirajo, strokovno obdelujejo, hranijo in javnosti zagotavljajo dostop do njih, ter 3) gospodarske subjekte kot ustvarjalce in uporabnike podatkov, informacij in znanja. Sodelovanje obeh vrst ustanov na področju dosegljivosti informacij omogoča racionalizacijo pri finančnem poslovanju ter na področju dosegljivosti znanja, kar bi prispevalo k učinkovitejšemu poslovanju vseh sodelujočih ustanov, k smotrnejšemu izkoriščanju razpoložljivih virov ter k splošnemu družbenemu razvoju regije.

Abstract:	In the diploma thesis we try to determine the possibility to connect the libraries as the collection of data, information and knowledge, with the economic subjects, that create and store these data, information and knowledge, and also urgently need information on the most recent developments in the world to remain competitive. We discuss three segments: 1) data, information, and knowledge as the agents of the social development, 2) libraries as the institutions where the data, information and knowledge are collected, professionally processed, stored, and where the public access is provided, and 3) the economic subjects as the creators and users of these data, information and knowledge. The cooperation between the both types of the institutions regarding the attainability of information would provide the opportunity to rationalise the financial operation, whereas the attainability of the knowledge would contribute to more efficient operation of all connecting institutions, to more expedient exploitation of the available sources, and to the general social development of the region.
