Prispevek obravnava vključevanje trajnostnih kompetenc, opredeljenih v evropskem okviru trajnostnih kompetenc, v izbrane študijske programe razrednega pouka v Sloveniji, Nemčiji in Avstriji.

Title:Integration of Competences from the European Sustainability Competence Framework into Teacher Education Programmes at Selected Higher Education Institutions in Slovenia, Germany, and Austria
Abstract:The educational landscape in Europe has been facing increasingly complex challenges in recent decades, which also affect the role of the teacher. Today’s teacher functions as a mentor, researcher, and connector of diverse knowledge, and must also possess sustainability competences. This article examines the integration of sustainability competences, as defined in the European sustainability competence framework, into selected primary education teacher education programmes in Slovenia, Germany, and Austria. The socalled GreenComp framework defines four key areas: sustainability values, systems thinking, future thinking, and acting for sustainability. The purpose of the analysis is to compare how selected teacher education programmes at six higher education institutions incorporate these competences into their curricula. The results indicate that sustainability competences are present to varying degrees across the programmes, with the analyzed programmes in Germany standing out for their more holistic and interdisciplinary integration of these topics into the educational process. In the analyzed programmes in Slovenia and Austria, a positive design is present, but gaps remain, particularly in the areas of critical thinking, adaptability, and collective action. The article emphasizes the importance of sustainability as a fundamental value in education and the need for further development of teacher education programmes that are equipped to address future challenges. In this context, the sustainability competence framework offers an important tool for systematically integrating sustainability competences into teacher education programmes and encourages changes in mindset and learning approaches.
